TN Schools to Reopen from Jan-19

Tamilnadu Schools to be opened by Jan-19 for Classes 10th & 12th – Officials from TN Govt

In view of COVID-19, all the educational institutions including schools were shut since March. Due to the pandemic situation, only board exams were conducted. The remaining students were promoted, without any examinations. And the students were now attending online classes for the academic year 2020-2021. In regard to this, the government has asked Schools to send feedback regarding the reopening of schools. Besides meetings were held in schools with the parents to share their opinions. And the majority of the parents showed their interest in reopening schools.

As per the latest update, the Tamil Nadu government has announced to reopen Schools for Classes 10 and 12 from Jan-19. Furthermore, the Schools will be operated following the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) by the government. As per the SOPs, only 25 students would be permitted in a classroom. Also, hostels have been permitted for the accommodation of students. In addition to the SOPs of Sanitization and social distancing, the Department of Health has been ordered to distribute Vitamin and Zinc tablets to students to improve their immunity.
